Sergey Lapshin

Ruda Śląska, Poland.

After I had realized my first social project in the framework of Theodor-Heuss-Kolleg in 2006, I started working as a non-formal education trainer in international youth exchange (Germany/Poland – Siberia). Together with the Foundation German-Russian Youth Exchange, I edited a songbook for Russian and German youth under the title “TOSCHTONADA”. In cooperation with the Warsaw-based Centre for Polish-Russian Dialogue and Understanding, I have been coordinating a Polish-Russian youth exchange project “Get to Know Your Neighbour – Get to Know Yourself”. I have been working as a facilitator and mentor in the Polish-Ukrainian-Belorussian non-formal education program “Civic Engagement Workshop”.

Apart from working with youth, I am a filmmaker. I make documentaries, conduct media workshops and work as a cameraman on oral history projects. I did documentary videos for Kreisau-Initiative e.V., the German Federal Agency for Civic Education and MitOst e.V. inter alia. You can view my detailed portfolio at

At local non-profit organizations in Poland (Genius Loci, Pro Ethica, Fundacja Arteria), I have been engaged in dialogue between generations. I try to activate elderly people and create opportunities for communication between people of different age.

My main areas of expertise are intercultural communication, media education, project management, education with and through music, support of voluntary initiatives, development of civil society on the local level and sustainable development.
