International Visit for cultural professionals to Ukraine in November

International Visit for cultural professionals to Ukraine in November

Insha Osvita with support of the Robert Bosch Stiftung in partnership with proto produkciia, Opera Aperta, Asortymentna kimnata and Antonin Artaud Fellowship seeking cultural professionals from Europe who are interested in getting to know the current artistic context in Ukraine and making contacts for future common projects.

We invite you on the week of 24-30 of November to join a flexible program of activities for getting your own impression of the current cultural context in Ukraine and getting to know the local performing art scene. Be aware that we will have another visit with focus on visual art in February 2026.

We understand that foreign news about events in Ukraine from a distance often sound unclear and unbelievable. We also understand that there is no fully safe space in current conditions in the country. But we see it important to create possibilities for international cultural professionals exchange and two-sided circulation of ideas and experiences even in such difficult conditions.

We invite those art professionals who are interested in learning the current context in Ukraine and incorporate it in future work to one week visits in Kyiv. Those will include networking events, showcases of art projects or exchange events. We invite a small group (up to 6 people) to participate in a flexible program of activities.

How to become part of the group and practicalities

  • We are inviting performing artists, visual artists, critics, and curators of contemporary art in Europe from all countries, including the UK.
  • A group will be created by nominations from partner organizations. If you would like to join the visit, you can send us your interest request via link until 7 of November.
  • We will cover logistical costs, including accommodation and/or travel, up to the equivalent of 350 EUR for each group member. Other costs should be contributed by you.
  • We invite those, who have not yet visited Ukraine after the full scale invasion.
  • We will select participants based on their potential to integrate this experience into future activities and projects.
  • There is no fee for project participants. The project is seen as a possibility for research and building up connections and contacts for future collaborations.

We understand that the safety of the participants is a priority. We will instruct everyone in air raid safety. All accommodation and events will be organised in locations with nearby shelters. Nevertheless, it should be clear that it’s not 100% secure and safe.

In the interest request, you can write questions, which you have concerning security issues. We will be reviewing requests on a regular basis and coming back with feedback.

The visit is implemented as part of Insha Osvtiaʼs project  “Fix what’s broken III”, supported by Robert Bosch Stiftung.
