Call for applications: Cultural Resistance programme

Goethe-Institut in Ukraine, Creative Residence MS6, and Insha Osvita are launching the Cultural Resistance programme to support cultural and artistic communities from the frontline regions of Ukraine.

The programme brings together artists, cultural managers, and civic activists working in cities close to the frontline. Participants will have the opportunity to take part in two 5-day residencies in western Ukraine, a series of online discussions and training events, and apply for a fellowship to implement their own cultural or artistic project.

Programme

Cultural Resistance programme consists of three key stages:

  • Regeneration residency: two five-day trips for 12-13 participants, each in July and September at MC6 (Slavske, Lviv oblast. This is an opportunity for renewal, exchange of experience, and establishment of cooperation between representatives of the cultural sphere.
  • The exchange format is hybrid: online meetings before, during, and after the residencies, dedicated to strategies of cultural cooperation during the war and post-war reconstruction. The program also includes the exchange of experience with international colleagues who have been through or are in similar situations of war.
  • Grants for project implementation: The 20 participants will receive small grants to implement their own artistic or cultural initiatives, especially those that focus on trauma, are implemented in rural areas, or involve cooperation with other organisations.
