Call for an independent jury for Culture Helps Solidarity
In 2025–2027, together with the European Cultural Foundation, zusa, and the Veteranka movement, and with the support of the European Union, we will be implementing the “Culture Helps Solidarity / Культура допомагає: Солідарність” project. It aims to support Ukrainian cultural professionals, as well as cultural organisations and initiatives that, through cultural and artistic practices, support local communities, work with veterans, and contribute to the integration of Ukrainians who, due to the war, have been forced to relocate either to safer regions within Ukraine or abroad.
We are looking for independent jury members to take part in the competitive selection of participants and the evaluation of grant applications. We are inviting external experts from non-formal education, arts, cultural and creative industries, human rights initiatives, and the civil society sector, including veterans.
Eligibility criteria:
- Strong ties to the cultural community and hands-on experience in implementing cultural and artistic projects;
- Understanding of the context and experience working on cultural projects for and/or with veterans, as well as with people who have been forced to relocate to safer regions within Ukraine or abroad due to the war; understanding of project and/or cultural management processes and of how projects impact the cultural sector as a whole and specific target groups;
- Experience in cultural management and project coordination at the local level, including the coordination of independent initiatives or civil society organisations, as well as in-depth knowledge of one or more regions;
- Experience with international cultural projects is an asset;
- Understanding of trauma-informed approaches and inclusion in the arts; sensitivity to discrimination and educational/didactic approaches; and a shared commitment to the values of equal partnership and solidarity;
- Experience in writing project proposals and familiarity with “project language”;
- Proficiency in Ukrainian and English at B1 level or higher. Additional languages are an asset.
