How can music serve as a bridge between our presence and the absence of those we have loved? As part of the ‘School of Death’ programme, we support artists and musicians who wish to honour the memory of their loved ones at their gravesites.

We launched this initiative because we believe in a live, honest way to be close to those who are no longer with us, through sound. If you have long wanted to create a musical tribute to your loved ones (with respect for the site and other graves), we will gladly support this with a grant of up to 300 euros towards technical, logistical or documentation costs. We do not expect a financial report, but we would be grateful if you shared your impressions, documentation and conclusions. This could be a musical performance, a site-specific musical performance, musical improvisation, chamber singing, etc.

To take part, please fill in the short form via the link. This is an ongoing open call, which we will consider as long as funding is available.

The initiative to support musical commemorative events for loved ones is being implemented by Inna Osvita in partnership with Reveil – an international initiative aiming to rethink contemporary European mourning culture.
