International Visit for cultural professionals to Ukraine in August 2026

Insha Osvita invites international cultural professionals interested in getting to know the current artistic context in Ukraine and establishing contacts for future collaborations. For this edition, we are welcoming participants on a self-funded basis.

We invite you to visit Kyiv on 22-28 August 2026 and join a flexible programme of activities to get your own impression of the current cultural context in Ukraine. Not a single linear narrative, but multiple perspectives.

We understand that foreign news about events in Ukraine, viewed from afar, can sound unclear and unbelievable. Furthermore, we also understand that there is no fully safe space in the current conditions in the country. But we see it as important to create opportunities for international cultural professionals to have two-sided circulation of ideas and experiences, even in challenging conditions.

We invite art professionals interested in learning the current context in Ukraine and who want to incorporate it into future work to one-week visits to Kyiv. We invite a small group (up to 8 people) to participate in a flexible programme of activities.

Insha Osvita, in partnership with proto produkciiaAsortymentna kimnataAntonin Artaud Fellowshipand Opera Aperta, has been implementing the International Visits Programme since 2023. Previous editions were fully or partly funded by grants. We want to sustain the Visits format, regardless of the availability of co-funding through a grant. Next editions will be implemented on a self-funded basis, so all expenses must be borne by the participants, with the following financial framework:

  • 500 EUR contribution to our organisation for curating the programme, organising events, and supporting in managing logistical and organisational questions.
  • Approx. 900 EUR are the costs for accommodation, per diem, and transport from Poland to Ukraine.
  • Costs for reaching Poland (or another connecting country, as there are no flights to Ukraine) should be calculated depending on your location.

To become part of the next visit:

  • Fill in the form via link.
  • The group will be formed on the “first come, first served” basis, so please do not hesitate to apply early.

The safety of the participants is a priority for us. We will instruct everyone on air raid safety. All accommodation and events will be organised in locations with shelters nearby. Nevertheless, it should be clear that it’s not 100% secure and safe.
