2023 work results of the Insha Osvita facilitators
In 2023, we facilitated 43 events with over 1300 participants.
Facilitators conducts events of various sizes: strategic sessions for small teams of 4 people or interdisciplinary forums for 60 or more people.
Target audiences:
- youth and teenagers
- people from the public sector — activists, volunteers
- employees of creative industries
- employees of state bodies and services
The geography of our activities has long been beyond Ukraine. We cooperate with Ukrainian and international organisations abroad, particularly in Europe, in online and offline formats.
Strategy building
Strategy building is an important component for any organisation or project. A good strategy is one that is implemented. And there is often a gap between the idea and the implementation of the plan, which is difficult to bridge without external support and management.
Now the facilitators group is planning in the unknown, so the approaches to strategising are changing: it is more appropriate to adjust and refine the plan in shorter iterations over a period of time, and to work with a trusted facilitator who does not need to be constantly put into context. A strategy session + further support of teams in the form of consulting is the most successful combination we practice for sustainable results.
Educational events
We continue to work according to the principle of “bringing life to learning and learning — to life” and conduct events that are focused on achieving specific learning outcomes. We use the potential of the group and ensure a human learning process. Among other things, we worked with the topics of feedback, team management, conflict management, advocacy, integrity, internal communication, and project management. Facilitation is also worth mentioning. We join the horizontal school (https://horizontal.school/) as an international community and conduct corporate facilitation training for organisations and teams.
Rethinking civic education
Due to the war and the pandemic, many areas of life have faced changes. This also applies to approaches to civic education. Part of the team of the Insha Osvita facilitators group became the authors of a publication for the international project Rethinking Citizenship Education. A Collection of Voices, which was published online in March 2023.
“With this publication, we want to support youth workers, trainers, facilitators, teachers and other professionals in the field of civic education in overcoming crises and transformations,” the publication’s description reads.
Individual support
This year, we started facilitation and supervision services for civil society activists. This is an opportunity to get support in your own professional growth, build your own individual trajectory and reflect on the experience you have gained.
Upon request, we can offer various formats of individual support — facilitation, mentoring, training supervision in facilitation practice. We use a mixture of different methods, approaches and reflective questions that help you to look at your situation with a fresh perspective. The session lasts 1 hour. Sometimes the result is tangible as early as the 12th session, and with complex requests it is worth working longer and more regularly.

Feedback.
Tetiana Zhavzharova, Head of Ecosense NGO:
“We received much more than we expected: a careful study and clarification of our request, a coaching approach and assistance in formulating the topic and questions of the meeting, a very friendly event with respect for each participant, and assistance in preparing materials based on the results of the session.”
Anna Shybyryn, head of the Feminist Workshop NGO:
“Instead of boasting of fashionable tools and imposing on us what we should do, the facilitator, based on her knowledge of tools and approaches, developed a programme for our team that was tailored to our needs.”
Feedback from the participants of the Facilitation School:
“The School of Facilitation turns the world upside down and allows you to see simply complicated things, and most importantly, you get this wonderful skill yourself.”
“Everything is clear and well-coordinated: 1) an individual approach to the team at the design stage; 2) flexibility and adjustment of the programme to the needs and requests of the audience already during the training; 3) honesty, transparency, cooperation … as well as other principles of facilitation were fully observed by the facilitator; 4) full 3 days passed like 3 hours — thanks to the professional approach to the organisation of the training process.”
We are pleased that this year we continued our long-standing cooperation and started new ones. Thank you for recommending us!
