Results of the selection for project grants for integration through culture within the “Culture Helps / Культура допомагає”
The grant program supports non-profit organizations and initiatives working with people who have been forced to relocate to safer regions or abroad due to Russia’s war in Ukraine. You can receive up to €5000 for projects aimed at integrating people into new communities in Ukraine or Creative Europe countries.
During the open call period, we received 543 applications, among them, we managed to support 22 organizations within the first round: 16 Ukrainian and 6 European (Poland, Lithuania, France, Austria).

The evaluation was based on the following criteria:
- Capacity and competences of the team (15 points).
- Quality of the proposal (25 points). Special attention was given to the presence of activities aimed at integrating people who had to relocate to safer regions of Ukraine or Creative Europe countries.
- Innovative/ experimental approach (5 points).
- Sustainability of action (5 points).
Each application was evaluated by a panel of three jury, including representatives of project partner organizations, as well as independent experts: cultural managers, curators, volunteers, and artists. The jury included:
- Yuliia Alenina — operations manager at Insha Osvita;
- Nataliia Martynenko — cultural manager at zusa;
- Oleksandra Gorchynska — former Chief Digital Transformation Officer at the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine;
- Kateryna Bova — project manager, fandraiser for cultural and humanitarian projects;
- Mykhailo Glubokiy — development director of “Izolatcia” charity foundation;
- Anastasia Manylak — cultural manager, head of visual art department at Ukrainian Institute;
- Tanya Vovk — co-funded ПСІКУЛЬТУРА;
- Taras Demko — cultural manager, Director of the Lviv Organ Hall;
- Lena Shulga — manager of international cooperation at Artists at Risk;
- Anastasia Pavlova — manager of international cooperation projects;
- Natalia Kernytska — international cooperation manager;
- Daryna Zhyvohliadova — international cultural cooperation reseacher, cultural program manager;
- Viktor Ruban — dancer, performer, director, choreographer, researcher, trainer, founder and director of Ruban Production ITP;
- Evgenia Molyar — art historian, critic, participant of the initiative DE NE DE;
- Vitaliy Kohan — paint artist, curator of Mogrytca art residency.
Participants of the competition will receive the selection results via the email address provided in their application.
