Vidnova Fellowship Ukraine 2024
Cultural workers, artists, activists, social entrepreneurs — like many other Ukrainians, they were forced to leave Ukraine and go abroad with the onset of Russia’s full-scale invasion. Some of them have already returned and resumed their activities at home. But no less are those who cannot return, start over, or restore their cultural, artistic, public, social, and socio-business projects.
We are launching the fourth wave of the Vidnova Fellowship Ukraine fellowship programme. The programme is designed to provide financial and mentorship support to those who worked in the public, educational, and cultural sectors before the full-scale war, were forced to leave their homes, but want to return to Ukraine and resume their work.
Within the programme, we will support 50 people. Vidnova Fellowship Ukraine 2024 includes three months of financial support in the amount of 20,000 UAH per month for the restoration of activities in Ukraine, additional one-time funding of 10,000 UAH for renting workspaces, mentorship, or training. The programme will also facilitate networking among participants with Ukrainian and European partner organizations.
The programme is designed for activists, artists, social entrepreneurs, and cultural workers who:
- Went abroad after 24 February 2022, but are returning to Ukraine between March and June 2024 and require support in resuming their professional activities;
- Went abroad after 24 February 2022, but returned to Ukraine between September 2023 and February 2024 to restore their professional activities.
In this call, we will support:
- Human rights defenders;
- LGBTQIA+ activists;
- Professionals in the field of commemorative practices and memory culture, including activists who support individuals affected by the Nazi regime and work on initiatives to preserve their memory;
- Activists combating anti-Semitism, as well as professionals working with Jewish history and heritage, particularly on the study of the Holocaust in Ukraine;
- Defenders of the rights of national minorities, including activists opposing discrimination against Roma and promoting their integration.
Selection criteria:
- The proposed activity corresponds to the thematic areas of the Vidnova Fellowship Ukraine programme;
- There is a clear and consistent plan for resuming professional activity at the time of receiving the fellowship;
- Variety and level of previous projects (until February 24, 2022);
- Relevance and innovation in work practices;
- The realism and impact of the planned work, both on the professional community and on the wider audience.
