Insha Osvita report 2024
We write this preface somewhat reluctantly and overpowering ourselves. We write because we have to. We have to sum up the conditional results of the conditional year, although this format has outlived itself. This ritual has always felt somewhat comical and conditional, and now – even more so.
What new can we tell you in this preface? That we remain in Ukraine and continue to work? That we work in support of those communities that we know and of which we consider ourselves a part? That we act decentralized and choose the peripheral – in geography and topics? That we are the periphery? That we wait for our people from the army and go to visit our people abroad – and launch programs for all of them, because we must be useful where we are, with the resources that we have?
What new can we tell you?
We can talk about what we usually leave between the lines. About the “after”. About what we will become after the war, and about who among us this “after” exists for. About what we will be left with and what we can still save or fix. About how to preserve the strength and will for exhausting reconstruction after exhausting defense.
Defeating the dragon is one thing. Not turning into a dragon while defeating it (in its own way) is another.
May everyone be alive and healthy. May we gain strength not only to act and look at others, but also to look at ourselves.
Sincerely,
The Board of Insha Osvita: Olga Diatel, Alona Karavai, Vasyl Kulevchuk.
And Executive Director of Insha Osvita: Yuliia Alenina.
